Genetics & Nutrigenomics

Your genes are part of the story—not the whole story.

Understand how your genetics may influence nutrition, metabolism, appetite, nutrient needs, exercise response, and other areas of health—and what those findings may mean in the context of you.

This personalized experience goes beyond a genetic report by integrating your results with your health history, food intake, laboratory data, lifestyle, and goals.

A genetic report gives you information. Interpretation gives it context.

Genetic testing can reveal differences in biological pathways related to nutrition and health. But a genetic variant by itself doesn't tell us what is happening in your body today.

That's why I don't interpret your genetics in isolation.

I consider your genetic results alongside your health history, current food intake, laboratory data, lifestyle, symptoms, medications and supplements, and goals to identify what may be most relevant for you.

The goal isn't to let your genes dictate how you eat. It's to add another piece of information that can help us personalize your care.

Your report contains a lot of information—but not every pathway will be equally important for you. Rather than focusing on every genetic variant, we'll look for patterns and identify the areas that may be most relevant in the context of your health, nutrition, lifestyle, and goals.

Metabolism & Blood Sugar — glucose regulation, insulin sensitivity and metabolic health

Appetite & Energy — hunger, satiety, energy expenditure and weight regulation

Hormones & Midlife Health — hormone metabolism and other pathways relevant to midlife health

Example of pathways evaluated in the 3X4 Genetics report.

What can your genetics help us explore?

Nutrients & Food Response — nutrient metabolism and utilization, including areas such as vitamin D, folate, B12, choline and fatty acids

Movement & Exercise — exercise response, energy expenditure and other activity-related traits

Cellular & Cardiovascular Health — inflammation, oxidative stress, methylation, cholesterol, vascular health and blood pressure

The report is only the beginning.

Your genetic report provides the data. My role is to help determine what deserves your attention.

Before we meet, I review your genetic findings alongside your comprehensive health assessment, three-day food record, available laboratory data, medications and supplements, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals.

I look for patterns across all of those pieces of information and create a personalized interpretation focused on what may be most meaningful for you.‍ ‍

You don't need to figure out a complex genetic report on your own. We'll walk through it together and translate the information into practical priorities for your nutrition and health.

A Few Things to Know

Timing
Your two Strategy & Implementation Visits are intended to build directly on your interpretation and must be completed within 60 days of your interpretation session.

Genetics provides insight—not a diagnosis.
Your results are considered alongside your health history, nutrition, laboratory data, lifestyle, symptoms, medications, supplements, and goals. Genetic testing does not diagnose disease or predict your health outcomes with certainty.

This experience is designed for humans.
I mainly work with midlife women, but if you have questions about whether this service may be appropriate for you or a family member, we can discuss that during a discovery call.
